Membership Terms

Last updated 1 September 2026

These terms cover 21230 membership: what you get, what you pay, what we promise, and your right to change your mind. They are written to be read, not to hide anything. If something here is unclear, ask us before you pay.

1. Who we are

21230 is a private matchmaking service operating from Ireland through the website 21230match.com, hosted by Aunty Flaky. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean 21230, and "you" means the applicant or member.

2. Who can join

21230 is open to people aged 21 to 30 who are currently single. By applying you confirm that you meet both conditions, that you are applying for yourself, and that your answers are accurate to the best of your knowledge.

3. Applying is free

There is no charge to apply. We read every application personally. We are not obliged to accept anyone, we do not have to give reasons for a decision, and submitting an application does not create any contract between us.

4. Membership and the fee

Payment is handled by Stripe on their own secure page. Your card details never reach this website.

5. What your fee covers, and what it does not

Your fee buys three months of active matchmaking consideration. That means your application is held in the matching pool, Aunty Flaky considers you personally for introductions as suitable people come through, and you are put forward where there is genuine mutual interest on both sides.

It does not guarantee a match, an introduction, a relationship or a marriage. Matchmaking depends on who else is in the pool, and on two people actually liking each other. We will not pretend otherwise, and you should be wary of anyone who does. It is possible to be a member for three months and receive no introduction.

6. Your right to change your mind

The short version

You have 14 days from the day you pay to cancel and get your money back, without giving a reason. If you ask us to start straight away and we do, you pay only for the part we have already delivered. Once the service has been fully provided within those 14 days, the right to cancel is used up.

Under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013, which implement the Consumer Rights Directive in Ireland, you have a right to withdraw from a service bought at a distance within 14 days, without giving any reason.

If you want us to start before the 14 days are up

Most members want their video call quickly rather than waiting a fortnight. When you pay, you are asked to confirm two things: that you want us to begin during the cancellation period, and that you understand you will lose the right to cancel once the service has been fully performed.

If you then cancel part way through, you do not pay for what has not been delivered. We keep a proportionate amount reflecting what we have already done, and refund the rest. In plain terms, if you cancel before your video call has taken place, expect most of your fee back. If you cancel after we have held your call and begun considering you for introductions, expect considerably less, because that work is the substance of the service.

How to cancel

Tell us clearly, in writing, within 14 days of paying. Use the contact form at 21230match.com, or reply to any email from us, and say that you wish to cancel your membership. You do not need a special form or a reason. We will confirm we have received it, and refund what is owed within 14 days of that, using the same payment method you used.

7. Refunds outside the cancellation period

After the 14 days, there is no automatic right to a refund, and we do not offer one simply because no suitable match came up. That is the nature of matchmaking, and it is why we say plainly above that results are not guaranteed.

None of this affects your legal rights if the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill, or is not as described here. If we have genuinely failed to deliver what these terms promise, tell us and we will put it right.

If we remove you from the service for a serious breach of section 8, we may keep a proportionate amount reflecting the work already done, and we will refund the remainder of the unused period.

8. How members are expected to behave

Membership depends on treating other members and our team with basic respect. The following may lead to removal from the service:

We will look into any report fairly, and we will normally speak to you before making a decision, unless someone's safety means we have to act at once.

9. Your privacy

How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Notice, which forms part of these terms. In short: nothing about you is published, and nothing is shared with another member until you have said yes.

10. Safety, and where our responsibility sits

Please read Dating Safely before meeting anyone. It explains what our screening does and does not cover.

We review every application personally and hold a video call before arranging an introduction. These steps reduce risk. They cannot remove it, and we do not carry out criminal record, employment or financial checks. Whether someone is single rests on their own declaration.

21230 introduces adults to each other. We do not control what members decide or how they behave after an introduction, and we are not responsible for their conduct. We are responsible for providing our own service with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under Irish and EU consumer law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected by anything written here.

11. If you are unhappy

Tell us first, through the contact form or by replying to any email from us. We would always rather fix something than have you stay unhappy.

If we cannot resolve it between us, you can contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission in Ireland, or use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. If your complaint is about your personal information, you may also contact the Irish Data Protection Commission.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. The terms that apply to you are the ones published on the day you paid, and we will not change the price or what is covered for a membership you have already bought.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
